今年8月发布的Windows 10一周年更新提供了名为Bash on Ubuntu on Windows的功能，启用该功能后Windows 10会在用户系统中安装Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr)镜像，允许用户使用Bash在Windows中运行原生的Linux程序。这项功能利用了Windows Subsystem for Linux(WSL)，WSL实现了Linux系统调用的子集。
在最新释出的测试预览版
Windows 10 Preview Build 14936中，Windows 10提供的Ubuntu镜像从14.04
升级到了16.04 (Xenial Xerus)。
